The Rafflesia.The Leech

woke up early in the morning at 6.45am, had everything done and start my journey to Gopeng,
which is around 20 minutes from Ipoh
went by 2 cars, 8 adults from Ipoh, and met our tour guide at Gopeng town
the guide drove us to Ulu Geroh - orang asli village
and we started to climb from there, which took us around 30 minutes
to reach the place where the Rafflesia is.
Rafflesia- the largest, and one of the most extraordinary flowers in the world
but the one we saw was very small, approximately 70cm only
it's too small! but we are lucky to see that.

this one is just only 2 days after blooming, that's why so small
and it's female flower. how to differentiate? look at the "teeth" inside.
if many, that's mean is a male flower. if few, then is a female
but how to count or how to consider that's many or few? haha
if we willing to climb 2 hours more, we'll have the chance to view the Rafflesia which is 3 to 4 times larger than the one we saw
but some of my group members said it's hard for them to climb for 2 hours
so we just visited the small one,and plan to go for higher the next trip
it has no smell, does not have stems, leaves, barks or roots, and spends most of its life as a chain of cells
inside the tissue of its host vine
it got another name too- Devil's Betel Box and Stinking Corpse Lily, told by the orang asli
it also take 9 months and 9 days to bloom, like a pregnant woman

this is our group photo
the boy standing at the back with grey colour t-shirt is from Subang
he joined our group to view the flower, and his friends went to waterfall
may be his friends are not interested to view the flower
and the interesting part, we saw a lot of leeches!! made us screaming around
and the guide told us better to stand infront or at the back when jungle trekking
why? because those people standing infront leading those at the back, and those people infront may step on those
leeches and those leeches will become active at the time and will start to disturb those people in the middle.
those at the back seldom get it because leeches already stick on those who are in the middle. haha
the guide's explanation was funny! and it's true! those who are standing in the middle
got a few free kisses from those ugly black leeches! i'm the one who got the most!
sigh, why am i so lucky?! should go and buy a lottery ticket. haha

poor thing..my legs kept on bleeding for 234 hours non stop
can't imagine got 4 small holes on my legs. i even don't have any feeling is there any leeches stick on my legs when was in the jungle
we checked for it after that and i almost fall down in a swoon when i saw a BIG BIG one stick on my knee
oh my god. i screaming around. embarrased. haha

this was the one which suck my blood until such a huge size! i hate you! you're so ugly!
one of my group member found one on her back side and another member found one on her armpit!
we all laughing laughing and laughing. non stop laughing.

these are Rajah Brooke Birdwing butterfly. they are so nice, dancing all over the place
they have distinctive black and electric-green bodies and the head is bright red colour
Ulu Geroh is one of the most accesible sites in Malaysia where the famed Rajah Brooke
Birdwing may be viewed up close and personal, adult butterflies live for about 2 to 3 weeks only
told by the orang asli and the guide

this waterfall is super nice!! but i forgotten what's the name of the waterfall, haha
how many meter? hmm i'm not sure about this. around 789 adults' height
and you can arrange your water activities here - abseiling!! it's too great to hang from the top of waterfall
and slowly climb down with a rope!! wanna have a try next time!!and white water rafting too!!

we were happy enjoying playing water there and of course water massage, too syok!
keep on shouting when we dip into the cool water, too cold! just like the ice water from Arctic
started to shake when we came out from the water to wait our van to go back to resort
we had ugly wrinkled fingers after that!
had our lunch at My Gopeng Resort, food there can consider yummy, not bad.
we can also find some different types of plants that we seldom see near to My Gopeng Resort, like
ginger flowers, vanila plants, tacca(pokok gelumak susu), gardenia augusta(pokok misai kucing),
labisia pumila(kacip fatimah) and so on so on....found some big and long stick insects too!

i ended up my trip like this! haha!
and thanks god that gave us such a nice weather!
no raining, a sunny saturday (:
